River Brathay

The Brathay is a river in Lake District, Cumbria in England. The Brathay has its origin on the Wrynose Pass near the Three Shire Stone.

The Brathay follow the road over the Wrynose Pass to the east. It flows only through the Little Langdale Tarn and then through the Elterwater lake.

South-west of Ambleside opens the Brathay in the Rothay.

The river was in its entire length, a part of the historic border between Lancashire and Westmorland, today it is completely river in Cumbria.
