Rob Williams (rower)

Rob Williams (born 21 January 1985 in Taplow ) is a British lightweight rowers. He won a gold medal until 2011 and two bronze medals at the world championships.

Career

Williams began 2001 with the rowing. In 2006, he finished with the British lightweight coxless four to sixth place in the U23 World Championships. At the 2007 World Championships in Munich, he won with Simon Jones, Chris Bartley and Dave Currie, the bronze medal in the lightweight quadruple sculls. After Williams was unable to qualify for the 2008 Olympics, he rowed in 2009, with Paul Mattick in the lightweight double sculls at the 2009 World Championships in Poznan reached the two sixth place. 2010 changed the two back in the lightweight four. In the occupation of Richard Chambers, Paul Mattick, Rob Williams and Chris Bartley the boat won the World Cup second place in Bled and two wins in Munich and Lucerne and also won at the World Championships in New Zealand.
