Robert L. Crawford, Jr.

Robert Lawrence Crawford Jr. ( born May 13, 1944 in Quantico, Virginia ) is an American actor and film producer.

Life

Crawford began his career in 1956 with an undisclosed uncredited role in the film comedy Playboy - march, march with Natalie Wood in the lead role. In the following years he had some guest appearances on several television series. For his appearance in the episode Child of Our Time the teleplay series Playhouse 90 in 1959 he was nominated for an Emmy for Best Actor. He also appeared 1958-1959 in three episodes as a guest in the Western series West of Santa Fe on where his brother Johnny Crawford played one of the lead roles.

Between 1959 and 1960 he played Andy Sherman in the Western series At the foot of the Blue Mountains, by which he became known to a wide television audience. In the third season of the series, however, his role was written out. In the following years, he starred in several other TV productions and had a few small film roles. Towards the end of the 1960s, Crawford finished his acting career and began working as a film producer. His first film as an associate producer was the winner of seven Oscars crime comedy The Sting. As a producer, he worked on the nominated for two Oscars Comedy Garp and how he saw the world as well as Funny Farm.

His father was the actor and editor Robert Crawford.
