Robin van Aggele

Robin van Aggele ( born July 30, 1984 in Hilversum ) is a Dutch swimmer.

Career

Robin van Aggele applies after Marcel Wouda as one of the best all-around swimmer.

His first international appearance was in the van Aggele Short Course European Championships 2004 in Vienna. The following year, at the World Swimming Championships in 2005 in Montreal, he was about 14 200 m medley and 11th in the 400m layers. In the same year, at the Short Course European Championships in Trieste, he confirmed his improving form as he finished fourth and just one hundredth behind the bronze medalist Vytautas Janusaitis.

In the European Swimming Championships in 2006, for which he was qualified, he did not join in because he felt too tired because of hard training. The Short Course European Championships in Helsinki in 2006 he won his first international medal when he won the bronze medal with the 4 × 50 m freestyle relay.

The following year, at the Short Course European Championships 2007 in Debrecen, he won the bronze medal with the 4 × 50 m medley relay.

In March 2008, at the European Championships in Eindhoven, he started weak, but was then able to convince the 100m butterfly as he finished fourth with a new Dutch record. With the Dutch 4 × 100 m medley relay, he also reached the fourth place.

A few weeks later, at the Short Course World Championships 2008 in Manchester, he won together with Mitja Zastrow, Robert Lijesen and Bas van Velthoven over the 4 × 100 m freestyle in a European record time the silver medal.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he is about 200m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and competed over 200m medley, but did not reach the final.
