Rochowo

Rochowo ( German Rochow ) is a small village directly on the eastern border of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the urban and rural community Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the powiat Koszaliński ( Pomerania ).

Geographical location

Rochowo located eight kilometers northeast of the small town Polanów ( Pollnow ) on a side street that connects Rzeczyca Wielka ( ( Large) Reetz ) in the province road 206 Mzdowo ( Misdow ) in the province road 208.

Through the village the route of the disused railway line in 1945 Gramenz Zollbrueck where the former was Rochow station runs. Today is for the place rail connection over the eight kilometers away stations Przytocko ( Pritzig ) and Ciecholub ( Techlipp ) on the railway line Pila - Ustka ( Schneidemühl - Stolpmünde ).

History

Documented Rochow was first mentioned in 1575, but is considered old Lettowscher owned and probably as a creation of the colonial period. In 1590, ten farmers and two Kossäten were settled here, in 1685 there were - after the war - only three farmers. At the end of the 18th century the village had eight pawns, six of which belonged to Rummelsburger and two for Schlawer circle.

The estate was for many years in the possession of the von Lettow. Then changed owners, among others, were those of Glasenapp that von Below, the Wrangel and Loeben temporarily owners. From 1904 to 1945stand it owned by the Wilke family.

In 1812, Rochow had 70 inhabitants. Their number increased to 1843 to 109, in 1885 and again to 114 to 1925 to 145 in 1928 Rochow was in the newly formed rural community Misdow (now Polish: Mzdowo ) incorporated.

Until 1945 the church belonged Rochow or Misdow to the district Rummelsburg in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. After 1945, the city came under the name Rochowo to Poland and became part of Gmina Polanów in powiat Koszaliński in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ). Here are today registered less than 20 local residents.

Church

Before 1945, the population of Rochow almost exclusively Protestant denomination was. The village belonged to the parish Vellin (now Polish: Wielin ), which was a branch church in the parish Pollnow since the mid- 1930s. She was in church Schlawe ( Sławno ) Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union.

Since 1945, the inhabitants of Rochowo predominantly Catholic denomination. The village belongs still to Wielin ( Vellum ), which is assigned to the parish in Polanów ( Pollnow ). It is in the deanery in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Polanów of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members are now the parish office in Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland assigned.
