Rocío Ríos

María Rocío Ríos Pérez ( born March 13, 1969 in León ) is a former Spanish long- distance runner who specialized in the marathon.

It was a total of nine times Spanish champion, of which four times in the 10,000 meter run ( 1991, 1992, 1996, 1997), three times in the half marathon ( 1992, 1994, 1995), and once each in the 5000 -meter run (1994) and in the marathon (1997). In 1994 she was in former Spanish national record time of 2:29:00 h Second at the Berlin Marathon. Another national record she set in 1997 in 1:09:59 h over the half marathon distance on.

Your best international championship results in the marathon Ríos achieved with fifth place at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and sixth place at the European Athletics Championships 1998 in Budapest. At the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, she finished in 21st place. She also won bronze medals in the team competition at the World Half Marathon Championships in 1995 in Montbéliard and 1998 in Uster.
