Rod Lawler

Rodney " Rod" Lawler ( born July 12, 1971 in Liverpool) is an English snooker player.

Career

Lawler 1990 professional on the Snooker Main Tour. One of his first major success was reaching the final of the Benson & Hedges Championship in 1994, in which he, however, the Welshman Mark Williams defeated. In 1996, he succeeded his far only finals with a full ranking tournament in the International Open. There, he lost to John Higgins but clearly with 3:9. At the World Cup 1996, he passed through a first round win over John Parrott at least the last sixteen. Thus it reached number 20 in the world rankings for the 1996/97 season.

However, this placement he could not hold, he fell in the 1998/99 season back out of the top 32. Since then, he ranked in the world rankings usually in the range between 40 and 60 place without achieving front ranks again in world ranking tournaments.

For the 2012/13 season as he missed 73 in the world rankings to qualify, but he was able to secure a place on the main tour again on the Q School. At the very first tournament of the new season, the Wuxi Classic 2012, he reached the final, where he managed the world rankings Fourth Stephen Maguire beat before he retired in the second round.

His first tournament success on the main tour in 2012 succeeded the third UK- tournament of the new Tournament Players Tour Championship series. In addition to the World Ranking Make Stephen Lee, he defeated another top -32 player and the finale Marco Fu 4-2.
