Roger Motz

Jean Henri Roger Motz ( born July 8, 1904 in Schaerbeek / Schaerbeek, Brussels -Capital Region, Belgium, † March 27, 1964 in Brussels) was a Belgian politician of the Liberal Party.

Biography

After schooling and studies, he worked as a mining engineer and as a manager in the company.

His political career began as a member of the municipal council of Brussels and as a member of the Chamber of Deputies, in which he also represented the interests of Brussels.

After the end of World War II, he returned from exile in London and became in 1945 as a successor to Jane Brigode and Fernand Demets Chairman of the Liberal Party and remained in this position until 1953., 1946, he was first elected to the Senate and was one of this up to at his death. In addition, he was the successor of Salvador de Madariaga 1952-1958 Chairman of the Liberal International. Following him was followed by Giovanni Malagodi, the longtime general secretary and later president of the Partito Liberal Italiano ( PLI).
