Rohrenfels is a community in the Upper Bavarian district of Neuburg -Schrobenhausen and a member of the administrative community Neuburg an der Donau.

Geography

Rohrenfels located 6 kilometers south of Neuburg on the Danube river in the planning region of Ingolstadt.

History

The church of Rohrbach (later Rohrenfels ) is first mentioned in 1214. Rohrenfels belonged to the former Duchy of Neuburg -Sulzbach and his court Neuburg; since 1777 the area was part of the Electorate of Bavaria. Rohrenfels was Hofmarksitz, the property of the family was from 1618 to 1832 taxis. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978, the formerly independent communities Ballersdorf and Wagenhofen were incorporated.

Mayor Karin Schäfer ( village community Rohrenfels ). She was succeeded by Herbert Heckl (CSU ) in 2002.

In the municipal election period from 2008 to 2014, the parties and voter groups are represented as follows:

  • Village community Rohrenfels: 5 seats
  • Free Wählergemeinschaft Wagenhofen - Ballersdorf: 4 seats

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 679 thousand in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted 258 T €.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 238 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 23 people.
