Roland Ducke

Roland Ducke ( born November 19, 1934 in Benešov nad Ploučnicí, † 26 June 2005 in Jena ) was a German football player and coach.

Born in Czechoslovakia Roland Ducke was the end of World War II with his family ( his younger brother Peter Ducke is ) marketed and grew up in Beautiful Beck. At age eleven, Roland Ducke began in 1946 when the SG Beck Beautiful old town with the football games. From the SG downtown is the BSG Motor Beautiful Beck, was used in the Ducke age of 17 in the 1st team developed.

For the SC Motor Jena, restructured in 1965 in the FC Carl Zeiss Jena, denied the qualified mechanical fitter 1955-1971 341 games in the DDR - Oberliga, in which he scored 50 goals. All three East German champion title of the Jena and a fdgb Cup victory fall into this time. For the national football team of the GDR Roland Ducke ran between 1958 ( against Romania ) and 1967 ( against Denmark ) in 37 international matches, scoring five goals. Both his first and his last international game, the GDR won each 3-2 in the Leipzig Central Stadium. In addition, it was used in five games of the B- team. At the end of the premier league season 1962/63 named the league coach in a poll of the magazine Deutsches Sport Echo Roland Ducke as the best left winger. In 1970 he was elected Footballer of the Year. After his playing career Ducke also worked as a coach, including as a youth coach for FC Carl Zeiss Jena.

On June 26, 2005 Roland Ducke died at the age of 70 years at the University Hospital Jena prostate cancer. He left a son.
