The Archdiocese of Sorrento - Castellammare di Stabia (Latin: Archidioecesis Surrentinus - Castri Maris o Stabiensis, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Sorrento - Castellammare di Stabia ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Sorrento.

History

The Archdiocese of Sorrento - Castellammare di Stabia was built in the 5th century as the Diocese of Sorrento. In 968 the diocese of Sorrento by Pope John XIII was. raised to an archbishopric.

The bishoprics of Massa Lubrense, Vico Equense and Capri were dissolved on June 27, 1818 by Pope Pius VII, with the Apostolic Constitution En ulteriori and their territory was annexed to the archbishopric of Sorrento.
