Roman Catholic Diocese of Alajuela

The Diocese of Alajuela (Latin: Dioecesis Alaiuelensis ) is a location in Costa Rica Roman Catholic diocese based in Alajuela.

History

The Diocese of Alajuela was founded on February 16, 1921 by Pope Benedict XV. built with the Apostolic Constitution Praedecessorum of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of San José de Costa Rica and this is a suffragan. On 19 August 1954, the Diocese of Alajuela gave parts of its territory to the founding of the Apostolic Constitution Neminem fugit erected Diocese of San Isidro de El General. A further transfer of territory took place on July 22, 1961 establishing the built with the Apostolic Constitution Qui Aeque diocese Tilarán. The Diocese of Alajuela announced on July 25, 1995 from parts of its territory to the foundation of built by the Apostolic Constitution Maiori christifidelium Diocese of Ciudad Quesada.
