Roman Catholic Diocese of Cần Thơ

The Diocese of Can Tho (Latin: Dioecesis Canthoensis, Vietnamese: Giao Phan Can Tho ) is a location in Vietnam Roman Catholic diocese based in Can Tho.

History

The Diocese of Can Tho was born on September 20, 1955 by Pope Pius XII. from the Apostolic Vicariate of territory Phnom Penh - established as Apostolic Vicariate of Can Tho. On November 24, 1960, the Apostolic Vicariate of Can Tho were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Long Xuyen.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Can Tho was born on November 24, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilium Nostrorum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Saigon is a suffragan.
