Roman Catholic Diocese of Dinajpur

The Diocese of Dinajpur (Latin: Dioecesis Dinaipurensis ) is a location in Bangladesh Roman Catholic diocese based in Dinajpur.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded it with the Breve Supremi Apostolatus on 25 May in 1927 of territory of the diocese of Krishnagar and it became the Archdiocese of Calcutta assumed as suffragan.

On January 17, 1952, lost part of its territory to the Prefecture Apostolic of Malda and Jalpaiguri to the diocese. Another part lost it on May 21, 1990 to the bishopric of Rajshahi.
