Roman Catholic Diocese of Faisalabad

The Diocese of Faisalabad (Latin: Dioecesis Faisalabadensis ) is a location in Pakistan Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Faisalabad.

History

The Diocese of Faisalabad was by Pope John XXIII. Founded in 1960 as Lyallpur Diocese from the Diocese of Multan out; first the Metropolitan Diocese Karachi assumed. First bishop was Francesco Benedetto Cialeo OP. In 1977 the name was changed to its present diocese of Faisalabad. Due to the renaming of the city in honor of the assassinated King Faisal of Saudi Arabia

The Diocese of Faisalabad is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Lahore.
