Roman Catholic Diocese of Guide

The Diocese of Shangqiu (Latin: Dioecesis Nancemensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Shangqiu in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Breve Quae catholico the Apostolic Prefecture Kweiteh on June 19, 1928 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kaifeng. On May 18, 1937, she was elevated to the rank of Apostolic Vicariate.

With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. In 1991, the secret bishop Monsignor Nicolas Shi Jingxian were consecrated except they agreed in 1999 to join the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association.
