Roman Catholic Diocese of Kumbakonam

The Diocese of Kumbakonam (Latin: Dioecesis Kumbakonamensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic diocese based in Kumbakonam.

History

The Diocese of Kumbakonam was posted on September 1, 1899 by Pope Leo XIII. built out of territory of the Archdiocese of Pondicherry and this is a suffragan. On May 26, 1930, the Diocese of Kumbakonam were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Salem.

The Diocese of Kumbakonam comprises 15 taluks in the districts of Perambalur, Thanjavur and Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu.
