Roman Catholic Diocese of La Spezia-Sarzana-Brugnato

The Diocese of La Spezia - Sarzana- Brugnato (Latin: Dioecesis Spediensis - Sarzanensis - Brugnatensis, Italian: Diocese of La Spezia - Sarzana- Brugnato ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in La Spezia.

History

The Diocese of La Spezia - Sarzana- Brugnato was built in 465 by Pope Hilarius as Diocese of Luni. On July 21, 1465 the diocese of Luni Sarzana, the diocese was annexed. The diocese of Luni Sarzana and was affiliated with the diocese Brugnato by Pope Pius VII, with the Apostolic Constitution Sollicita quam on 25 November 1820.

On January 12, 1929, the diocese of Luni, Sarzana and Brugnato was renamed the Diocese of Luni o La Spezia, Sarzana and Brugnato. The diocese of Luni o La Spezia, Sarzana and Brugnato was renamed on 4 August 1975 in the diocese of La Spezia, Sarzana and Brugnato. On September 30, 1986, the Diocese of La Spezia, Sarzana and Brugnato was renamed by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis in the diocese of La Spezia - Sarzana- Brugnato.
