Roman Catholic Diocese of Les Cayes

The Diocese of Les Cayes (Latin: Dioecesis Caiesensis ) is a location in Haiti Roman Catholic diocese based in Les Cayes.

History

The Diocese of Les Cayes was born on October 3, 1861 by Pope Pius IX. based out of territory of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo, and it assumed the Archdiocese of Port-au -Prince, suffragan. On April 20, 1972, lost part of the territory of the Diocese of Jérémie and on 13 July 2008 in the Diocese of Anse -à- Veau et Miragoâne.
