Roman Catholic Diocese of Ningxia

The Diocese of Yinchuan (Latin: Dioecesis Nimsciianus ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Yinchuan in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded with the Breve Christiani gregis the Apostolic Vicariate of Ningxia on March 14, 1922 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate Southwest Mongolia. With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese.

John Baptist Liu Jingshan was from 1984 to 2009, Bishop of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association of the diocese. Joseph Li Jing, with the approval of the Holy See, was appointed on 21 December 2007 on the Coadjutor Bishop, and followed in 2009 his predecessor in office.
