Roman Catholic Diocese of Nova Iguaçu

The Diocese of Nova Iguaçu (Latin: Dioecesis Neo - Iguassuensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Nova Iguaçu in Rio de Janeiro.

History

Pope John XXIII. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Qui in Apostolici March 26, 1960 from annexations of the dioceses Campos, Niterói and Valença and it became the Archdiocese of São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro assumed as suffragan.

The Diocese of Nova Iguaçu includes the municipalities of Nova Iguaçu, Belford Roxo, Japeri, Mesquita, Nilópolis Paracambi, Queimados and part of Miguel Pereira of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
