Roman Catholic Diocese of Phát Diêm

The diocese Phát Diem (Latin: Dioecesis de Phat Diem, Vietnamese: Giao Phan Phát diem ) is a location in Vietnam Roman Catholic diocese based in Phát Diem.

History

The diocese Phát Diem was on April 15, 1901 by Pope Leo XIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of East Tonkin established as Apostolic Vicariate coastal Tonkin. On 3 December 1924, the Apostolic Vicariate of coastal Tonkin was renamed Vicariate Apostolic Phát Diem.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Phát Diem was born on November 24, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabilium Nostrorum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Hanoi is a suffragan.
