Roman Catholic Diocese of Viterbo

The Diocese of Viterbo (Latin: Dioecesis Viterbiensis, Italian: Diocese of Viterbo) is located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in Viterbo.

History

The Diocese of Viterbo was built in the 6th century and the Holy See under the direct. In the 12th century the diocese of Viterbo was affiliated with the diocese Tuscanella. The diocese of Viterbo, Tuscania was on May 2, 1936, Pope Pius XI. with the Apostolic Constitution Ad maius Christianized the Territorial Abbey of San Martino al Monte Cimino affiliated.

On 27 March 1986, dioceses Acquapendente, Bagnoregio and Montefiascone were the Diocese of Viterbo and Tuscania affiliated by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Qui non sine. The diocese of Viterbo, Acquapendente, Bagnoregio, Montefiscone, Tuscania and San Martino al Monte Cimino was renamed on February 16, 1991 Diocese of Viterbo.
