Roman Catholic Diocese of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia

The Diocese of Civitavecchia - Tarquinia (Latin: Dioecesis Centumcellarum - Tarquiniensis, Italian: Diocese of Civitavecchia - Tarquinia ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic diocese based in Civitavecchia.

History

The Diocese of Civitavecchia - Tarquinia was in supremae dignitatis built on December 5, 1435 by Pope Eugene IV to the papal bull as a diocese Corneto Tarquinia and the Holy See under the direct authority. The diocese Corneto Tarquinia was attached the diocese of Civitavecchia on June 14, 1854.

On September 30, 1986, the Diocese of Tarquinia and Civitavecchia was renamed by the Congregation for Bishops with the decree Instantibus votis in the diocese of Civitavecchia - Tarquinia.
