Roman Kienast ( born March 29, 1984 in Salzburg) is an Austrian football player. The striker plays since the beginning of 2012 at FK Austria Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Career

Played in his youth born in Salzburg in Vienna (his father was playing from 1983 to 1985 when SV Austria Salzburg) at ASV Voesendorf, where he was discovered at age 14 of Rapid talent. His father Wolfgang Kienast Reinhard Kienast and his uncle played for Rapid, novel itself first in the offspring, and later in the amateurs.

In 2002 he made ​​his debut in the first team of Rapid. Over the next two seasons Roman Kienast had a total of 24 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, but he remained without a goal. In the remaining championship season 2004/2005 Kienast had 21 missions and scored his first goal for Rapid. In March 2006, Roman Kienast joined the Norwegian club Ham -Kam. After the temporary descent he succeeded with his club at the end of 2007 to return to the first-class Tippeligaen. He himself scoring 14 league goals.

On 30 July 2008 Kienast was on loan committed by the Swedish first division club Helsingborgs IF for four months, where he was to replace the Al -Nasr migrated Razak Omotoyossi. After only twelve games of the loan contract expired and Kienast returned - including a trial intermezzo with the English second division club Plymouth Argyle - to Norway, where it plays, after the descent of the club until his contract in late 2009 in the second highest Norwegian league.

On January 19, 2010 Roman Kienast moved back to Austria, where he signed a contract until the summer of 2010, with an option for two-year extension, signed for Bundesliga side Sturm Graz. This option was taken on April 6, 2010. Therefore Kienast contract with Sturm Graz applies to 2012.

In the 2010/2011 season he scored 19 goals in the championship and had thus contributed significantly to the winning of the Championship. In autumn 2011, a broken metatarsal him sat 1.5 months out of action, so he came in the championship only 13 missions, in which he scored a total of 6 goals. On 30 January 2012, Sturm Graz announced the immediate change of Kienast to Vienna Austria. About the transfer fee was agreed remain silent. National

His debut in the senior team, he announced on October 13, 2007 against Switzerland. His first and only goal he scored on 27 May 2008 in a 1-1 draw against Nigeria. Kienast was also in Austria squad for the 2008 European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.
