Romang, Santa Fe

Romang is a small town in central Argentina. It is located in the province of Santa Fe in the department of San Javier.

Location and population

Romang is the northernmost municipality in the department of San Javier. It is located 265 km north of the provincial capital, Santa Fe and about 750 km from the capital Buenos Aires. Romang has 8.011 inhabitants (2001, INDEC ) and lies on the Rio San Javier, a tributary of the Paraná River

Climate

History

The area around present-day Romang was called to 1845 San Geronimo. Thereafter, until the founding of Malabrigo. The Swiss immigrants Teófilo Romang finally founded in 1873, the settlement Romang.
