Roméo LeBlanc

Roméo -Adrien LeBlanc, PC, CC, ONB ( born December 18, 1927 in Memramcook, New Brunswick, † June 24, 2009 ) was a Canadian politician. From 1995 to 1999 he was Governor General of Canada; he was the first Acadians in this office. Previously, he sat from 1973 to 1984 in the House. He belonged to the Liberal government of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and was from 1975 to 1984, among others, Minister of the Environment and Fisheries Minister. From 1984 to 1993 he served on the Senate and presided over these two years.
