Romero Lubambo

Romero Lubambo ( born July 20, 1955 in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian bossa nova and jazz guitarist.

Life and work

Lubambo learned very early Piano. At the age of thirteen he moved to classical guitar. In 1978 he finished his studies at the Music School Villa -Lobos from in his hometown. In 1980 he completed his engineering studies at Pontifical Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. In 1985 he moved to the USA where he worked as a studio musician with Astrud Gilberto, Dianne Reeves, Michael Brecker, Al Jarreau, Kathleen Battle, Harry Belafonte, Grover Washington, Jr., Luciana Souza, Sergio Assad, Ivan Lins, Dizzy Gillespie, Sadao Watanabe, Paquito D' Rivera, Yo -Yo Ma and Ryan Truesdell ( Centennial - Newly Discovered Works of Gil Evans ) recorded, but also in groups of Herbie Mann, George Garzone, Dave Douglas, Wolfgang Lackerschmid, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira played. Since 1990, he turned on his own albums before and also appeared in duos, such as David Chesky on. With Duduka da Fonseca and Nilson Matta, he formed the Trio da Paz, with whom he released several albums since 1992.
