Rosemary Follett

Rosemary Follett AO ( born March 27, 1948 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian politician and was the first Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party.

After the election victory of her party in the first elections of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, Follett 1989, for the first Chief Minister of the Territory. She was the first female head of government at the state level in Australia.

Follett had held this office on 8 May 1989 to 5 December 1989, and again from 6 June 1991 to 2 March 1995.

She was honored in 2006 with the title Officer of the Order of Australia.
