Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory

The Chief Minister is the head of government of the Australian Capital Territory. The chairman of the largest party in the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly ( Legislative Council of the Australian Capital Territory ) usually takes over this office. Unlike other states and territories, the Chief Minister is not appointed by the Governor-General, but chosen from the ranks of the Council.
