Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

Rosemont -La Petite- Patrie is one of 19 arrondissements of the city of Montreal in the Canadian province of Québec. In 2011, the 15.9 km ² large city district counted 134 038 inhabitants.

Geography

Rosemont -La Petite- Patrie is near the center of the Ile de Montréal. Adjacent arrondissements the city of Montreal are Villeray -Saint -Michel- Parc- Extension in the West, Saint- Léonard in the north, and Mercier - Hochelaga -Maisonneuve in the east, Le Plateau -Mont -Royal Outremont in the south and the southwest.

History

The district dates back to the village of Côte- de -la- Visitation, which was in 1870 became a separate municipality. 1885 Petite- Côte separated and formed a second church.
