Rosie Kane

Rosie Kane ( born June 5, 1961 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician. She joined the Scottish Socialist Alliance and the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP ) to vote in national elections.

Kane visited the Lourdes Secondary School in Glasgow, and then began a study of the social sciences, which they, however, did not graduate. After that, she worked in various professions, such as laundry workers, telephone counselor, youth worker and swimming instructor. Kane was environmental policy spokeswoman for the SSP. Multiple they ran for a seat on the city council of Glasgow, but never achieved the necessary number of votes.

In the 1997 General Election Kane first came to national elections to. However, they received in their constituency Glasgow Rutherglen only 251 votes (0.71 % ) and thus failed to reach the British House of Commons clearly. For the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 she ran for the SSP in Glasgow Shettleston constituency, but the direct mandate could not win. In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 the Labour politician and First Minister Donald Dewar won the direct mandate of the constituency of Glasgow Anniesland. On 11 October 2000, he died, however, why in the constituency took place on 23 November 2000 elections. Kane entered in this election for the first time for Glasgow Anniesland on, but missed the direct mandate clearly. Another time she was a candidate in the parliamentary elections in 2003 for Glasgow Shettleston, but again received no voting control. As early as 1999, however, she held behind Tommy Sheridan to second place on the Regional Evaluation of the SSP for choosing Glasgow Area, which was sufficient for the 2003 elections, in order to obtain as representative of the constituency a seat in the Scottish Parliament. In the 2007 parliamentary elections it was indeed set to the first rank of the regional election list, but the party did not receive enough votes to send a candidate, which Kane lost her parliamentary seat.
