Route du Sud
The Route du Sud ( officially Route du Sud - La Dépêche du Midi ) is a cycling stage race in southern France.
Launched in June usually about three stages annual bicycle race was held in 1977 for the first time. The final stage is traditionally a difficult mountain stage in the Pyrenees, which is why many climbers go there at the start and prepare for the following Tour de France in July. Since 2005, a part of the Route du Sud for UCI Europe Tour and is classified in category 2.1.
