Route Verte

Route Verte (French "Green Road" ) is a network of long-distance routes in the Canadian province of Québec. It is about 4300 km long and the most significant power of this kind on the American continent.

The concept was developed in the late 1980s by the non-profit organization Vélo Québec. 1995 announced the provincial government to support the project financially. Since then, Vélo Québec coordinated planning, inter-regional cooperation and advertising. With the Quebec tourism industry is a close cooperation. In August 2007, the Route Verte was officially inaugurated.
