Rowing at the 2012 Summer Paralympics
In the Summer Paralympics 2012 in London, from 31 August to 2 September 2012 medals were awarded in a total of 4 competitions in rowing handicap. The decisions were made at the Dorney Lake near Eton, where the Olympic competitions were held.
It took a total of 108 athletes participated in the Paralympic rowing competitions, including 54 men and as many women. A total of 48 boats, reported from 23 countries. The route is for Handicap rowers only 1000 meters, the Olympic distance is 2000 meters.
Classes
In the disabled Rowing is divided into three classes:
- LTA, for rowers with low vision, light amputation and hemiplegia (Mixed quad).
- TA, for rowers with amputations, spinal cord injured person or of CP (mixed pairs ).
- A, for rowers with a lack of core stability (men and women one ).
