Roxbury Crossing (MBTA-Station)

Roxbury Crossing is the name of a metro station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ( MBTA ) in Boston's Mission Hill in the state of Massachusetts in the United States. It provides access to the metro line Orange Line.

History

The station was opened on May 4, 1987 in parallel to the Northeast Corridor as part of the renovation and relocation of the Orange Line.

Metro Station has a total of two tracks, which are accessible via a central platform.

Building

The metro station is located in the district of Mission Hill at address 1400 Tremont Street. The building is completely accessible.

As part of Arts on the Line project, the MBTA, which consists of five colored canvases of art " Neighborhood" by Susan Thompson was installed in the station. In addition, located outside the station two granite monuments engraved with texts ( "At Roxbury Crossing" by Jeannette DeLello Winthrop and "Hometown " by Virgil Luix Overbea ).
