Rubén Felgaer

Rubén Felgaer ( born April 4, 1981 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine chess player.

Since 2002, he has the title Grandmaster. He was trained by Oscar Panno. Felgaer won twice (2000 and 2001), the Pan-American U20 Junior Championship. 2001 and 2008 he was Argentine champion. In 2002 he won the policies Cup in Copenhagen. He won many chess tournaments in South America (mainly Argentina and Brazil ) and Europe ( mainly in Spain). Chess club he plays regularly in the Spanish first league ( for Unio Gracienca d' escacs - UGA ) and sometimes in the Catalan Championship.

In the Team World Junior Championship in 2000 in Buenos Aires, he took with the Argentine national team on board one gold medal and additionally an individual gold medal for his score of 5 points from 5 games. He took six times for Argentina in Chess Olympiads (2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012 ). At the World Championship 2004 in Tripoli, he switched off in the first round Baadur Dschobawa, but failed in the second round by Alexei Drejew.

He had led in 2008 The Argentine Elo list. His best Elo rating was 2624 in October 2005; at that time he was ranked 86 of the FIDE world ranking list.
