Rudolf Thanner

Rudolf " Rudi " Thann ( born August 20, 1944 in Fussen, † August 9, 2007 ) was a German ice hockey national team and local politicians.

The defender won with his hometown club, the EV Füssen, for whom he played from 1964 to 1978, six German Championship titles ( 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969 and also the last of the club in 1973 ). Overall, he completed 430 Bundesliga matches and scored 73 goals.

From 1967 to 1976 he was a member of the German Eishockeymationalmannschaft. Together with his team-mate Josef Völk he formed a strong Verteidigerduo. In three Olympic Winter Games Thanner participated (1968, 1972 and 1976 ), where he with the team of national coach Xaver nonsense took the bronze medal in 1976. Also at the World Championships ( 2 B and 6 A- WM) Thann was regularly in the squad. In total he played 118 matches in which he scored 20 goals. After his playing days, he worked as a player and organizer for the DEB tradition Team along with Alois Schloder.

After the career

From 1984 to 2002 he was a member of the City Council of feet. For 25 years he drew beyond the District Office as the executive director of the Tourism Association Ostallgaeu. He was also instrumental in the reorganization of the ski jumps in Bad Faulenbach.
