The pictures show in the Romanesque apse still a Crucifixion group and on the triumphal arch the victim of Cain and Abel. Right of the chapel door begin Scenes from the Life of St. Christopher, which continue on the north wall. The west wall is occupied by scenes from the life of St. Catherine of Alexandria and on the south wall, the remains of the legend of St. Anthony Abbas can be seen. In the western Palas can be found on the mezzanine floor of the first floor in 1995 exposed courtly scenes and on the floor above knightly games as well as the famous bath-house with a very well-preserved murals of about 1400th The walls are of red painted wall hangings covered, stretching over which painted arcades. In the individual arcades are male and female figures in courtly dress, and on the south wall depictions of animals. There are nine triads, three groups of people who communicate with each other in a context on the outside of the cottage. The painting at the triads arose shortly after 1393rd There you will find figures from antiquity as Hector, Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, biblical characters like Joshua, King David and Judas Maccabeus, further King Arthur, Charlemagne and Godfrey of Bouillon, Margaret Maultasch, mythical figures such as Dietrich von Bern, Siegfried and Dietleib by Steier and giants and dwarfs. The importance of Runkel Steiner frescoes lies in the fact that they represent a unique source for the history of clothing from the late Middle Ages, particularly the 14th century. It is possible to read different influences from different parts of the depicted drapery.
