Ruslan Albegov

Ruslan Vladimirovich Albegow (Russian Руслан Владимирович Албегов; born January 26, 1988 in Vladikavkaz ) is a Russian weightlifter. He was 2011 and 2013 European champion and won at the 2012 Olympic Games bronze medal respectively in the super heavyweight division.

Career

Ruslan Albegow began as a teenager with weight lifting. He lives and trains at CSKA Vladikavkaz. His coach is K.D. Solojew. The 1.92 meter tall athlete competes in the Super Heavyweight, the weight class from 105 kg body weight. He is a student and is supported by the army.

His first international appearance was at the Junior World Championship ( U-20 ) in June 2008 in Cali / Colombia. There he came up with 282 kg ( 170-212 ) to 4th place and missed so just a medal. He weighed in at this launch just over 130 kg. At the Junior Championship ( U-20 ) in September 2008 in Durres / Albania he came to 387 kg ( 173-214 ), and thus won the bronze medal.

His next start was at the Junior European Championship 2010 (U 23) in Limassol. He rose thereby to 407 kg ( 182-225 ) in a duel, winning back the Bronzemdedaille. In 2011 he was Russian champion in the super heavyweight division, which he secured with a surge capacity of 248 kg for the first time. In the international championships, he was in 2011 but not used.

In 2012 became European Champion in the Super Heavy Weight 429 kg ( 191-238 ) Ruslan Albegow in Antalya. He thus relegating the Olympic champion Matthias Steiner of Germany, who was not of course in the form of 2008 to 2nd place. He was then at the start and at the Olympic Games in London. He grew up there in a duel to 448 kg ( 208-240 ). With this performance, he fought his way behind the two Iranians Behdad Salimikordasiabi, 455 kg ( 208-247 ) and Sajjad Anoushiravani, 449 kg, the bronze medal.

In April 2013 he was again in Tirana European champion in super heavyweight. His duel power was there 442 kg ( 195-247 ). He won there but only thanks to its lighter body weight (155 kg) before Artem Udachin from Ukraine, also to 442 kg ( 200-242 ) came from, but weighed 169 kg. In excellent form, Ruslan Albegow presented in July 2013 at the Universiade in Kazan. He scored there in a duel 259 kg ( 205-254 ) and won so before Bahador Moulaei, Iran, 450 kg ( 196-254 ). Perfectly From Ruslan Albegow then presented in October 2013 at the World Championships in Wroslaw. He was there - again after a hard fight with the Iranian newcomer Bahador Moulaei - world champion in single combat and tearing. He achieved this in a duel 464 kg ( 209-255 ). Moulaei came to 458 kg ( 203-255 ).
