Rutger Beke

Rutger Beke ( born August 8, 1977 in Halle) is a former Belgian triathlete. The multiple Ironman champion (2007, 2009) in 2003 vice-champion at Ironman Hawaii.

Career

1996 and 1997 was Rutger Beke Begischer Youth Triathlon National Champion.

Beke is best known for his alleged drug abuse. It was founded in 2004 at the A and B sample tested positive for EPO and blocked for 18 months. A year later, the University of Leuven delivered the proof that he was not positive. When the Belgians came to a kidney malfunction due to hard training. This arrived proteins in the urine, falsified the test.

A Belgian court awarded the triathletes finally free. Actions for damages against the World Anti -Doping Agency WADA and the two laboratories involved in running.

In May 2011, he declared after eight years as a professional athlete, the end of his active career.
