Ryan Hollweg

Ryan Hollweg ( born April 23, 1983 in Downey, California) is an American- Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Škoda Plzeň in the Extraliga since July 2012.

Career

Ryan Hollweg began his career as a hockey player with the Langley Hornets of the British Columbia Hockey League, for which he was active in the 1998/99 season. He subsequently received a contract with the Medicine Hat Tigers, for whom he played a total of five years in the Western Hockey League until 2004. During this time, he was selected by the New York Rangers during the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 in the eighth round when a total 238 players. In the 2001 /02 season he gave for the farm team of Rangers from the American Hockey League, Hartford Wolf Pack, made his debut in professional hockey. A large part of the 2002/ 03 missed the Californians due to a traumatic brain injury.

For the 2004/ 05 NHL season Hollweg was finally summoned to the squad of Rangers, but he came because of the lockout this season for Hartford in the AHL for use. After three years in New York Hollweg was released to the Toronto Maple Leafs on 14 July 2008 in exchange for a fifth -round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2009. After spending the next four years of playing largely in various AHL farm team, Hollweg was signed in July 2012 by Škoda Plzeň HC of the Czech Extraliga.
