RyÅ Aono
Ryō Aono (Japanese青 野 令, Ryo Aono, born 15 May 1990 in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture) is a Japanese snowboarder predominantly in the discipline denies his race halfpipe.
Aono took in January 2004, at the age of 13 years, for the first time to participate in FIS races and placed himself in the same year in fifth place in one of these lower class races. When he first came to the podium in a FIS race in February 2005 and was able to convince fourth and in the Japanese Championship, Aono be qualified for the World Cup in Sungwoo Resort. In his four World Cup races of the season, a 19th place was his best result. Also in the shortly thereafter taking place Junior World Championships in Zermatt as he missed the Fourteenth Top 10
In January 2006, Aono won for the first time a FIS race, but he took this season only participate in a World Cup race, which he finished in twelfth place. In the next World Cup season he triumphed for the first time in a World Cup, he repeated this success even three times in a row, so he, after he had placed in the last race in second, won the Halfpipe World Cup. In addition, Aono was started that season and in the Snowboard World Cup 2007 in Arosa, but there was only occupies the 65th rank.
The 2007/08 season opened Aono again with a victory, but as he once was only 29 next to another victory and a second place, he missed the title defense in Halfpipeweltcup and finished sixth. Also in the 2008/ 09 season started well Aono and finished second behind compatriot Kohei Kudō. In January 2009, he celebrated his sixth World Cup victory in Gujō and at the World Championships in Gangwon, he was in the halfpipe world champion.
