Saint-Maurice-Navacelles

Saint- Maurice- Navacelles is a commune of 160 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Hérault in the Languedoc- Roussillon region.

Geography, attractions

Saint- Maurice- Navacelles lies on the southern edge of the Cevennes in the valley of the river Vis. The church is known for the so-called Cirque de Navacelles, a cracking basin that the Vis 400 meters deep on the Karst region. In the valley is the main settlement of the community.

The location of the achievable Dolmen de la Prunarède is one of the most beautiful of the " Causse du Larzac " ( high level) in the Cevennes.
