The Salt Lake City International Airport is the international airport of Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah. It is the second largest aviation hub of Delta Airlines. The airport consists of three terminals (Terminal 1 and 2 as well as the international terminal). Among them, there are five departure halls (Concourse AE). There are four start and runways, all of which run in a north-south direction.

History

The beginnings of the airport are located in a small airstrip, which was opened in 1911. In 1920 the airfield the name Woodward Field and it began airmail flights. 1926, the first commercial passenger flight took place. The airport was renamed in 1930 in Salt Lake City Municipal Airport, 1968 in Salt Lake City International Airport.

The airport has repeatedly been massively expanded and modernized. Since 1982, the airport is a hub for Western Airlines, which later merged with Delta Air Lines.

Terminals, airlines and destinations

The Salt Lake City International Airport has three terminals with five departure halls (Concourse AE). In Terminal 1, the departure halls A and B. The terminal will be used by all airlines, but not primarily of Delta, for domestic flights. Terminal 2 is used exclusively by Delta and the flying for Delta tributaries for domestic flights.
