Sammarinese Communist Refoundation

The San Marino Communist Re- foundation ( Italian: Refoundation Sammarinese, RCS) is a communist party in San Marino.

It was founded in 1991 after the Communist Party of San Marino (PCS ) renounced Communism and had changed the party name in Partito Progress Ista Democratico Sammarinese ( PPDS ). The PPDS named later joined in Partito dei Democratici. The RCS preserved since the communist program of the faded PCS.

In the parliamentary elections of 2001 brought the RCS to 3.38 % of the vote and two seats. Before the election on 4 June 2006, the RCS was taking a electoral alliance with the Left Party Zona Franca independent; as Sinistra Unita, the Alliance reached 8.67% of the vote and five out of sixty seats.

In 2004, the RCS founding member of the European Left Party. Party leader is Ivan Foschi.
