Unitarian Left

The Gauche Unitaire (Uniform Left ) is a small French party.

It was founded by members of the Trotskyist Revolutionary Communist League embossed, who had left pronounced the Socialists for the unit with the PCF and the other forces ( flow Unir ). Since the referendum of 2005 Unir defended this position within the LCR, whose leadership argued for a collection of radical left forces within a US-led party leader Besancenot extended LCR.

The chairman of this flow, Christian Picquet, announced on 8 March 2009 that he would support the same day constituted Front de gauche, taking the line of the newly formed successor party to the LCR, the Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste (NPA ) under Olivier Besancenot disagreed. So he had to leave the party. Unir dissolved, and the majority of the followers Picquets founded with him the Gauche Unitaire, which was part of the Front de Gauche. Picquet himself stood third in the list in the Parisian district.

The Gauche Unitaire is a member of the European Left.
