Samuel Contesti

Samuel Contesti ( born March 4, 1983 in Le Havre, Haute -Normandie ) is a former French figure skater who competed for France and Italy in a single run.

Career

After disputes with the French figure skating federation changed Contesti who stood on the podium at the French championships from 2005 to 2007 three times in a row, according to the 2006/ 2007 Italian Federation, and in 2008, 2009 and 2010 Italian champion. At the European Championship 2009 in Helsinki, he was behind Brian Joubert surprisingly Vice - European Champion and in the subsequent World Championships in Los Angeles fifth. He succeeded with a rousing freestyle Ennio Morricone's theme music to play to me the song of death. In his first Olympics he did not come about 18th place out, tied at the World Championships in Turin but back to his old performance and finished seventh.

In 2011 he finished the Championship in sixth place and the World Cup on a disappointing eighteenth place.

At the World Cup 2012 Contesti succeeded after a long time once again a rousing freestyle that brought him into the final bill to tenth place. To French chansons and a lively presentation and winking he jumped solid and without major error, albeit without quadruple jump.

Contesti is among others trained by the Swiss Peter Grütter who already Stéphane Lambiel led to the world title. Contestis Yves father played soccer in the first French league. Contesti has two older sisters. In February 2007, he married Geraldine Zulini who also coached him. The couple has two children.

In summer 2012 Contesti ended his figure skating career and now works as a figure skating coach.
