2012 European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships 2012 took place from 23 to 29 January 2012 in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Venue was the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield. The United Kingdom was for the third time after 1933 (London) and 1989 ( Birmingham) host the European Championship.

The Russians Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov won by their common European Championship debut unchallenged their first European Championship title. On the silver medal followed their compatriots Vera and Yuri Larionov Basarowa. The bronze medal went to Russia, to the debutants Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov.
The only possible challenger of Volosozhar and Trankov, Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy had their participation due to a hamstring by Savchenko cancel at short notice. The Russian pair Juko Kawaguti and Alexander Smirnov were due to an appendectomy Smirnov's not at the start.
