San Cosme y Damián

San Cosme y Damián is a district in the department of Itapúa Paraguay. It covers an area of ​​200 square kilometers and has about 6,780 inhabitants. The district is surrounded by the neighboring districts Coronel Bogado and General Delgado, in the west it borders the department of Misiones and in the south, separated by the Paraná River, in Argentina.

At this place the Jesuit reduction San Cosme y Damián was established in 1632 by the Jesuit Father Adriano Formoso.
